21-Day Consecration of Obedience

Back in 2009, I did this consecration and I journaled on Facebook each day to share what I was learning. I have decided to do it again.

I am vowing to God to be obedient no matter what it cost.

"The LORD is my strength, my shield from every danger. I trust in Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving." Psalm 28:7

"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9

So, what is that I am being obedient to God for 21 days, starting June 22nd, well, there are a few things that came to mind when I made up my mind to do this:
  1. Reading the word, not just studying it for sermons and counseling.
  2. Eating right and losing some weight
  3. Forgiving those that have wronged me and seeking forgiveness from those that I have wronged.
  4. Staying faithful to my writing schedule (3 Hours daily except for Sundays)
  5. Being more consistent in every area of life. saying what I mean and meaning what I say.
  6. Being faithful to accomplishing daily, weekly and monthly goals.
So, my journey starts on June 21, 2015 and as the Lord speaks I will obey. In my future blogs, beginning June 21st, I will describe this journey. I will talk about the ups and the downs. I will allow myself to be transparent and real. I want to change and become everything God has already spoken I will be.
Father, I pray that you allow me to grow through this process. Let my words be pleasing in your sight. Teach me, mold me, and cause me to rise above my flesh. It's not in my power but in your power that I will accomplish this feat. I will be able to become the woman you created me to be. Father, I pray that you will be glorified in all that I say and do. Let your anointing flow freely in my life. I am a willing vessel. I ask you to rebuke the devour from my life. Remove all desires that are not like you and help me to see clearly what you have in the storehouse for me. Bless all those that encourage me on this journey and those that journey along with me to be more pleasing in your sight. I pray this all in Jesus' name.
I wrote about this in my blog today because I want to share this with you and if you feel so led to join me. Let me know in the comments below.

Does God Change His Mind?

Hebrews 13:8 says Jesus Christ the same, yesterday, today and forever.
However, do we really believe that the same God we served yesterday is the same God we serve today? Do we trust him at his word. Many of us have had opportunities to sit under some power prophets in our time and we have heard them decree and declare that certain events were coming our way, that we would be able to do certain things in this life. We believed it yesterday but since our today is mix up and messed up...we think God changed his mind.

When I preach about Purpose, I always use Jeremiah 29:11-13 and Psalms 139. I think both these scriptures gives us an understanding about the god that we serve. Let's understand something, God is all knowing so nothing takes him by surprise. NOTHING! Even more importantly than that God knows what is coming up and what has already transpired. The God we serve stands outside of our time. He actually created time. Think about it. So why would he need to change his mind?

There is a parable that I use to help people understand why God is not bothered by there past nor is he confused by their present. Here it goes....

God was sitting in heaven watching the angels play a friendly game of soccer, (lol... I know someone just said how do you know. I dont but this is my parable so go with me) when his mind started to wonder. What would happen if I created a world of people with free will. A will to choose to love me or not. He saw himself creating this world and every event under the sun that has occured the good, the bad and the ugly. He saw those that would love him, those that would hate him. He saw your life , my life. He experience the pain of the cross. He saw everything to the end.... and then he said, "Let there be!"

He did not change his mind "In the Beginning", and he is not changing his mind now. There is nothing we can do that will cause God to say, "oops I changed my mind." Let me say this, WARNING always comes before destruction. If you are on the wrong path, God knows how to get your attention. remember Moses, God wanted him to deliver his people, but he did not circumsize his sons. His wife had to do it to save his life. Remebmer Balaam was going to prophesy against the children of Israel and his donkey keep stopping in the road and then revealed to him after the thrid time that an angel was in the road to kill him if he kept going.

Maybe you are like King David and you blantantly sinned before God breaking a commandment. Even still God will send word of your punishment and judgement and allow you space and time to repent. He does not however, change your destiny, because he made allowances for your missteps, your fears, your delays and even your refusals. Just ask Jonah!

So I cant say that God changes his mind. I can say he already knows every scenario you can think of and he knows which one will play out.

(CORRECTED REPOST) Philippines Chronicles: Lessons To be Learned! Part 4

Sorry, I thought I had written this blog when it first posted on May 8th but I realized on 9th that it posted along with today's post blank. So I am reposting

So I was standing there. I felt like a fool and I wanted to cry, but there was something on the inside of me pushing me to hold on. I walked around until I found an outlet to plug my phone up, so it could charge. I had been trying to stay close to the ticketing counter so they would not have to look too hard for me and think that I had gone. Now I just wanted to sit quietly somewhere and see what would happen. So I found a plug where I could sit and I waited.

At this point either I would get on the plane or I would need a ride back home. My sister Jessica called me on Voxer, once my phone was turned back on and asked if I wanted her to stay where she was until we found out what would happen with the flight. I told her that was a good idea because I did not know how I would get to Stockton, should that be the case.

I am not sure exactly when Kelsi got to the airport, but I don't think I had sat there more than 15 minutes. When she got there she was parked in front of the wrong airline so I told her which one I was at and told her I would meet her outside. I walked back to the ticketing counter because I wanted to see if anyone was still there and there was a chance that it was not too late to get on the plane. there were a few agents still there, but I could tell they were shutting down terminals and preparing to close shop. The Manager that had tried to help me was walking out the door so I knew the flight had either gone or was about to taxi down the runway. So I went to meet up with Kelsi.

I defeatedly loaded my things in Kelsi car and she drove me to where my sister was waiting for us. Before I got out of the car, Kelsi and I prayed. I heard nothing from God. I asked Kelsi if she got anything and she after a small hesitation said, "All I got was rest and God finishes what he starts." I was not sure what it meant, but I didn't want to process it at that moment nor did I want her to explain it more.

I wanted to cry. Instead I got out the car, loaded up my sister's car and tried not to think. You see I am someone who will try to work things out and fix it. Now all I wanted to do was scream but I knew that would not help my situation. I kept thinking I don't do things like this and how did this happen not just once but twice.

I wanted to blame it on God, I wanted to blame it on my sister not driving faster or not leaving sooner. I wanted to blame myself for not checking when I got the unction to do so. I was angry. No one could have been more angry, disappointed or embarrassed than I was at the moment. I thought about all the money that had been spent on the tickets. I felt foolish.

I did not know what to do, but there was a small feeling that said trust God.  I could feel faith draining like sand being pulled by the tide. Every way that God had made for me to go started coming to mind. Especially allowing me to get the ticket that I needed to chang my flight to Thursday. then I thought about how I had left my passport again. It was not the first time this was the second time. Who does that!!! Not me! Well at least up to this point I would have said not me.

See what happens next.....

Meet The Session Speaker of Turning Your Past Into Purpose Retreat Cruise 2016: Evangelist Kelsi Marie Arceneaux

She can be described as a unique individual whose primary focus and goal in life is to be a vessel, set aside for the Master’s use. One aspect of her personality that has kept her rooted and very close to ministry is her “all or nothing” perspective of commitment. She commits to something with everything she has to offer or she does not commit at all.

It was during Kelsi’s college years that she began to contemplate her “life plan” and consider what things she would spend her time, energy, talents and gifts trying to cultivate. She realized that the thought of the career path she had chosen, caused her to feel a great sense of hopelessness. Kelsi became overwhelmed with the thought and feeling that something was missing and knew there had to be something more defining, fulfilling and reflective of a deeper thirst that she was created to do. She began to pray for guidance and soon realized that within her was a yearning and burning for ministry.

Currently, Kelsi’s ministry consists of preaching and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, radio broadcasting, blogging and the recent publishing of her first book, “Clarity Is Divine”.

Kelsi’s mantra is: “If God can take empty space and form a world-if He can create man from the dust, then surely He can do something with me, a vessel yielded and broken, whose only confidence is that God is All that His word says He is, will do all that He says He will do and knew ME before the foundation of the world!!!! Glory Be to GOD”

In today’s microwave society, we want everything in an instant.  And we want it now.  Between instant gratification and a sense of entitlement, we often forget that GOD is GOD and HIS will be done.  We can’t lag behind HIM and we surely can’t jump ahead of HIM.  Linda A. Hillman’s new book, IN THE MEANTIME, addresses this very subject—waiting upon GOD.

Through vignettes of the Prophet Elijah’s life, Linda reveals GOD’s plan for waiting upon HIM.  This concise but rich study provides insight into the character of GOD and how HE takes us through steps of preparation, motivation and confirmation in getting us through our seasons of waiting.  The beauty and truth of Linda’s message is that you can have the same glorious breakthrough as Elijah had.  Get copy of IN THE MEANTIME and get set-up for your own blessing!

A Tribute to Dr. Myles Munroe

Dr Myles Munroe was a man that I admired and desired to meet one day. Gone to soon is what I can say about him. Not only did he change how I viewed purpose and prayer. He helped me to define how prayer would play out in my ministry and life.
“People generally fall into one of three groups: the few who make things happen, the many who watch things happen, and the overwhelming majority who have no notion of what happens. Every person is either a creator of fact or a creature of circumstance. He either puts color into his environment, or, like a chameleon, takes color from his environment.” ― Myles MunroeUnderstanding Your Potential
“When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable” ― Myles MunroeUnderstanding the Purpose and Power of Woman
“You must decide if you are going to rob the world or bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you.” ― Myles MunroeUnderstanding Your Potential
These are just a few of his quotes that spoke to me and helped me to want to be a better woman, minister and overall person. there are not many times that we can be touched emotionally, spiritually and intellectually by someone we have never met but when it occurs, it is something special. Dr. Munroe did many things intentionally, one of which was to build up the people of god and make leaders become more accountable for our actions and lives.

I want to say he challenged us all to be more like Christ and to under the unity of the Body. He was an unselfish leader that taught the masses to be cherish the gift on the inside of them but to understand the bigger picture and share their gifts with the world as it pertained to their purpose.

I pray that in the time that I have had to gleam from this man of God through his sermons, teachings, books and articles of interviews that I will be able to pass on to the next generation a legacy as rich as the one he passed on to me.

I'll see you on the other side Dr. Munroe! We will meet in Heaven and I will tell you how your life inspired my own! RIP til we meet.
